Compare
Deepnote is a hosted data notebook with its own open format, which also runs inside VS Code and Cursor. Zasper is an open-source IDE for Jupyter that runs on your own machine. Both put an AI agent beside your notebooks; where they differ is the file format, the kernels, and whose agent it is.

Which one
Both are open where it counts for a notebook. The question is which format your work lives in, which kernels it needs, and whose machines it runs on.
.ipynb and should stay that way, in your git.Everything we say about Deepnote is from Deepnote's own website, docs and code, as of 20 October 2026. If something has changed, open an issue and we'll fix it.
No account to make, and your files stay on your machine.
